| A cheer of thanks went up from the crowd for Peter Savage, past and present supporter of the West Valley SAR organization. This 100% volunteer organization was created to perform wilderness search and rescues for the missing or injured citizens in the San Bernardino Mountains and Forests. They respond to downed aircraft, wildfires, and are available to assist local police and fire departments with urban search and rescue emergencies. The volunteers donate tens of thousands of hours per year and the organization is on call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to respond to emergencies.
Held at the Quakes stadium in Rancho Cucamonga on November 6th, the 2nd annual fundraising event was a big success. The Savage team is to be applauded as they had no prior experience as a team but stepped up to the plate to play 4 games winning one of them with a final score of 8 to 3. Rescue Team Member Rick Fontana states “Savage BMW has been a great supporter encouraging their employees to be SAR volunteers and with fundraising efforts that make our activities possible”.
