Savage BMW was proud to be a “Title Sponsor” of the Fourth Annual Lake Arrowhead Triathlon held on Saturday, August 18. From ages 8 to 94, more than 418 competitors and judges participated in this unique event that started at Lake Arrowhead Resort and finished at the Lake Arrowhead Village.

Kirk Coult, President of the TheLake Arrowhead Village Management Company said it best:  “This year’s triathlon was definitely a WIN, WIN, WIN situation for all concerned!”

The 600 yard swim, 10 mile bike and 3.1 mile run hosted by Mountain Multisport was organized to benefit Rebuilding Mountain Hearts and Lives, a citizen-led long-term recovery committee that was formed to help coordinate the 2003 Old Fire disaster relief and rebuilding efforts for the San Bernardino Mountains. Through the efforts of the event additional funds generated and awareness was raised regarding the long term effort to help fire survivors impacted by the 2003 Old Fires that destroyed 445 homes here in the Rim Communities. One of the projects is the restoration of a bridge that burned over Hook Creek in Cedar Glen. The Bridge will allow 67 homeowners to have access to begin the process of rebuilding.

Savage BMW donated a check and Dave Stewart from Rebuilding Mountain Hearts and Lives stated “We are very thankful for all the support we’ve been getting. We would like to thank Savage BMW for their donation and we wanted to express our gratitude to Lake Arrowhead Triathlon event coordinators for letting us have a space during the event.”

Kirk Coult defined the win, win, win – the Village merchants won with the 500 new visitors the event brought to the local stores, the homeowners won because so many visitors were asking about the availability of vacation home sales and rentals, and also, the entire Greater Arrowhead region won with the successful event fundraising efforts!

Peter Henry, General Manager of the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa added one more win when he stated “The triathlon organizers, Julie and Josh Mores, and the major sponsor, Savage BMW of Ontario, are to be congratulated on their presentation of this year’s triathlon.  The Resort is excited about its being able to help make next year a 5 WIN EVENT for the athletes, their families, friends, and the local merchants.”

With sincere appreciation, we thank all of those who attended and participated in this community event and long-term rebuilding effort.
