The BMW Z4 Roadster back
Power
Effortless excitement.
The six-cylinder Z4 Roadster deliver efficient and powerful performance. The 195 kW 3.0si accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 5.7 seconds, with the 2.5-litre versions following hard on its heels. The 160 kW 2.5si reaches the 60 mph mark in 6.3 seconds, while the 130 kW 2.5i needs just 0.8 of a second longer. Even more impressive is the effortless smoothness with which these aluminium/magnesium engines deliver their power.
6-speed manual transmission.
Short shift throws, carefully matched ratios, a smooth, precise action and a wide ratio spread between 1st and 6th - these are the ingredients that make the standard 6-speed manual transmission such a joy in sporty driving. 6-speed automatic transmission is among the options, and a sports-oriented automatic unit with steering wheel shift buttons is also available.
6-speed automatic transmission.
6-speed automatic transmission is available as an option for the BMW Z4 Roadster. A particularly sporty 6-speed automatic unit is available for the 2.5si and 3.0si, with Adaptive Transmission Control (ATC), Steptronic and steering wheel shift buttons. It determines the shift points dynamically according to the driving situation and offers clutchless manual gear changes at the touch of a button, allowing you to enjoy that F1 feeling in total comfort.

Sport mode.
Activating sport mode makes the BMW Z4 Roadster feel even more dynamic. Just press the "Sport" button and the vehicle's electronic control units switch to sportier settings for the engine, steering and, on automatic models, the transmission. The engine responds more keenly, the steering's power assistance is reduced at low and medium revs for a more direct feel and the transmission adopts sportier shift characteristics.
Dynamic Stability Control.
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) recognises the onset of a skid and stabilises the vehicle within milliseconds. It continuously monitors wheel speed, lateral acceleration and yaw rate and, if the limits are reached, adjusts the engine management, reduces torque and also activates the brakes on each individual wheel.
